About the Author
It is high time we broke with our theologically based restraint towards the state's actions - which, after all, is only fear. "Speak out for those who cannot speak." Who in the church today realizes that this is the very least that the Bible requires of us?
The restoration of the church must surely depend on a new kind of monasticism, which has nothing in common with the old but a life of uncompromising discipleship, following Christ according to the Sermon on the Mount. I believe the time has come to gather people together to do this.

Hi, my name is Chad and welcome to The Effective Spirit.
I'm 47 years old, and I currently live with my beautiful wife (Laurie), and son (Wyatt) in Boise Idaho. I've traveled quite a bit, and also lived in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and grew up in Southern California.
My blog is called The Effective Spirit because I believe the effect we have on other people and the world around us should be the central focus of living. By passing on what we've learned, providing inspiration, and caring for others - we discover our true purpose.
In these hectic and challenging times I hope my writing will inspire you, create new ways to help others, and have an effect for good in the world.
May we be Effective in the truest sense of the Christian Spirit!
When I started The Effective Spirit back in January, my original idea was to focus on the ways a person can live more effectively as a Christian, and also living effectively in sobriety – pretty much a typical feel good, run of the mill blog.
As time has gone on, it’s been tough to maintain that original focus – mainly because I’m not the guy to go to for shiny, happy people affirmations and cotton candy Christianity. And I’ve been through and seen too much to fall for writing about the latest self improvement fads. Jesus laid out the best plan over two thousand years ago, and no one else has even come close to it.
I have a keen interest in scripture, world events, politics, and discovering what the truth really is. There are things taking place in this country and this world that are nearly unbelievable - but if you take the initiative, you’ll discover that they are indeed happening.
Things are not as they seem. Modern society will change drastically over the next few years. Whether that change is for the better or for the worse depends largely upon the level of ignorance that pervades our world society. For me personally, to be most effective as a writer, and more importantly – as a Christian, I need to convey the information I uncover. I need to do my part to raise awareness of the issues I have such passion for. There has never been a more vital need for true, reliable information as there is at this time in history.
In deciding to move my writing in this direction, I emailed my friend Miah, a father of three, and a school teacher to see what he thought of the idea:
“I think you know a lot about what is going on and have done the research to back up a more edgy blog. I personally love that kind of stuff and I agree that many Christians are very cookie cutter right now, and now is probably one of the most important times in history to be black and white about so many issues. Christians are the only force holding Satan back from wrecking this world. If some people are offended or think it is a little crazy, that is probably a good thing. Everyone would have said those same things 10 years ago if you wrote about what it is like today. Can't wait to read it!!”
Miah nailed the point home in that last sentence. If I were writing ten years ago about the issues the world and America are dealing with today – people would not have believed a word of it.
I have no interest in listening to the nightly news, but spend lots of time researching alternative news sources, books, web sites, blogs, and video sources. There are a lot of scary and secretive things happening. I hope to bring to light the issues that matter, and to remind people that above all we have nothing to worry about because we have faith and the gift of grace.
I still intend to revolve around the topics of Faith, Recovery, Inspiration, and Purpose - but to focus each topic more in a sense of Christian Revolution to heal a broken world. I’m really excited about the new direction and feel like I could write for years about all that’s taking place around us!
God Bless
